[ Nota Bene – The EU and US deep state continue to pressure the sovereign nation of Serbia to accept the US occupation of the southern Serbian region of Kosovo, presently being governed by an illegal US hand-picked puppet of Albanian decent, with long and deep ties to organized crime, child trafficking, and central to the Afghan-Europe heroin pipeline. The EU is supposedly giving an ultimatum until ‘2019’ for Serbia to accept what is, within Serbia, constitutionally invalid and also contrary to any even application of international law in the post WWII order. The strategy of the EU also includes an “indicative illustration” of the steps required to complete the process of Serbia’s accession to the EU by 2025, which is the best case scenario. Thus, at the latest by the end of 2019, among other things, Belgrade should meet the transitional criteria under chapter 35, relating to Kosovo. – ed J.Flores ]
Deputy Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party Sergei Zheleznyak and Deputy Speaker of the State Duma of Russia Pyotr Tolstoy held consultations with the delegation of the Serbian Movement from Kosovo and Metohija “Fatherland” (Otadzbina).
According to the United Russia’s press service, the political issue in Kosovo, as well as the development of inter-party and inter-parliamentary cooperation in resolving Kosovo’s problems and other important directions of Russian-Serbian relations, were the key topics of the meeting.
Pyotr Tolstoy recalled the recent letter from the Kosovo Serbs to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the letter of the Serbian Orthodox Church Council dedicated to Kosovo, as well as several statements concerning the protection of Kosovo and Metohija of some leading Serbian politicians and MPs, archbishops and priests of the Serbian Orthodox Church, scientists and personalities from the cultural and public sphere, as well as numerous citizens of Serbia.
“We share the deep concern of all Serbs over the fate of Kosovo and Metohija – the cradle of the Kosovo oath, the source of the Serbian spiritual and national traditions. For the Russian and Serbian people, Kosovo and Metohija represents the common sanctuary of our Orthodox and Slavic civilization,” Tolstoy emphasized.
Sergei Zheleznyak said that the long-term solution of the Kosovo problem can only be found through stakeholder negotiations based on the provisions of the UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
“Only direct respect and practical implementation of this document, the cornerstone of the resolution of the Kosovo problem, can lead to a true normalization of the situation without any so-called “all-inclusive agreements” that are not inside the framework of Kosovo’s essential autonomy and self-government, envisioned by the resolution 1244.
“The EU and the US demanding from Belgrade to sign the so-called ‘Agreement on the normalization of relations’ with the Kosovar Albanian separatists, their insisting for the territorial division of Kosovo and Metohija to be carried out in the Serbian and the Kosovo-Albanian part, or the so-called ‘territory exchange’ and other attempts of this kind are categorically unacceptable”, said the Russian politician.
Pyotr Tolstoy warned that the abandonment of the comprehensive legal act – the UN Resolution 1244, and further steps aimed at international recognition of the self-proclaimed Kosovo, were a threat with catastrophic consequences not only to the Balkan region, but to the whole of Europe.
Sergei Zheleznyak said that he believed that in the conditions of the full support by the West of the Kosovo Albanians, including the military, the prospects of forming a modern and powerful military potential in Serbia are of particular importance.
“The military power of Serbia and the establishment of a regional military-strategic parity are becoming a key factor that will allow Serbia to lead an independent domestic and foreign policy, and above all to preserve Kosovo and Metohija inside its territory, to protect the security of Serbs and Serbian national interests in the region. Therefore, in the framework of the Serbian-Russian strategic cooperation, the provisions on strengthening a long-term military and military-technical cooperation, as well as Serbia’s cooperation with the ODKB countries, are especially important,” Zheleznyak pointed out.
Head of the Serbian delegation, Slavisa Ristic, thanked the Russian colleagues for their consistent and unchanged support for Kosovo and Metohija.
“The forthcoming visit of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to Serbia this year is the most important political event for our country. In this regard, a special role is given to intensifying inter-party and inter-parliamentary cooperation,” he said.
