NOVOROSSIA – FRN has come to learn that a group of Ukrainian soldiers wearing Russian uniforms arrived in the village of Shastie, located on the line of contact in the Donbass region, a spokesman for the pro-independence militia of the People’s Republic of Lugansk (LNR) Andrei Marochko said on Tuesday.

“According to local residents, on June 9 and 10, a group of Ukrainian military men wearing Russian uniforms arrived in the village of Schastie [controlled by forces loyal to Kiev],” Marochko said.

According to the militia, the group of soldiers who arrived at the place had special weaponry. Marochko pointed out that in connection with this, provocations could be carried out in the territory of the LNR aimed at “accusing the people’s militia and the Russian military of terrorist acts and violence against civilians in the Lugansk region.”

“Ukrainian provocations can serve as a basis for an information campaign against LPR as well as against the Russian Federation,” Marochko said.

In addition, the LPR representative stated that the Ukrainian military continues to concentrate their military equipment in the contact line area.

Meanwhile the press service of the Ministry of Security of the People’s Republic of Donetsk (DPR) said the Ukrainian military is preparing a provocation in the Donbass region against the delegation of the European Union Committee for political security matters.

The visit of the European delegation to Ukraine, at the request of the country’s president Pyotr Poroshenko, is already scheduled, according to DNR representatives. From the 13th to 15th June the delegation will likely visit the front-line areas and also Kiev to analyze the humanitarian situation in the Donbass area.

According to the information obtained by the Ministry, the Ukrainian military plans to shoot down a helicopter with the European delegation to “accuse the DPR and the LPR [Lugansk People’s Republic]”.

To this end, forces loyal to Kiev plan to use the Soviet-made Igla mobile air defense system, according to the DPR ministry.

Information on the alleged provocation follows the recent escalation of tensions between Kiev and Donbass forces.
