SANA’A, Yemen – Tens of thousands of Yemenis have attended a pro-Palestinian demonstration in the country’s capital of San’a on Friday.
Thousands voiced their anger over US President Donald Trump’s decision to relocate the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv as it is expected the city would be the capital of a future Palestinian state.
People held Palestinian and Yemeni flags.
“We are standing by their side with our arms, souls and blood until the liberation of Jerusalem. This is the path that we are on,” one of the protesters Abu Hajar said.
This comes as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has recently confirmed that the Embassy move will happen sooner rather than later.
“We will soon move our embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, years ahead of schedule,” he said.
