Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel received his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro at the Revolution Palace in Havana on Saturday.
This was his first public event after being elected as head of state.
“We come to renew hope, to renew dreams. We must aim for the future especially, visualize ten years ahead and think what else can be done, what else is necessary for our people,” Nicolas Madura, President of Venezuela said.
“When I say ‘our people’ I mean the Cuban people, the Venezuelan people, but I speak about our America, Latin America, the Caribbean,” Maduro continued.
“What else needs to be done to create deep, indestructible foundations of the political, spiritual, moral union and, above all, the economic union, which is the one that can liberate us,” he added.
