Chinese Foreign Ministry welcomes North Korea’s missile halt promise

BEIJING, China – Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said China welcomed the DPRK’s decision “to stop nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile experiments,” speaking at the press conference in Beijing on Monday.

“We believe that North Korea’s actions will help further ease the current situation on the Korean Peninsula, and it will also help to promote the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and political settlement of the peninsula,” stated Lu Kang.

This comes as North Korea announced a halt to weapon testing, but not an end to its nuclear program.
