GENEVA, Switzerland – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) that “it’s unacceptable to divide terrorists as ‘good’ and ‘bad’, especially when it’s based on the goals these militants declare or on their financial sources,” during a meeting in Geneva on Wednesday.
“Russia will continue to persistently fight against such perverse practices of such double standards by assisting the Syrian Army in the final elimination of the terror threat”, Lavrov said.
He mentioned that Russian and the Syria governments have already declared the opening of humanitarian corridors in Eastern Ghouta.
He then added that now it’s up to the opposition forces and their ‘sponsors’ to make the next step.
