American sports fan Filip Vahuda bravely waved around the Russian flag at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in South Korea.

He explained that he had heard about the unfair doping scandal and that Russian athletes were ordered to compete under a neutral flag. Vahuda thought that it would be good to support them.

"They trained for four years, they were preparing to represent their country at the Games, but they were deprived of such an opportunity/ I wanted them to feel at home, to show that they are equal to others, because the Olympics are for everyone, " the American explained.

Vahuda added that he would like to "set politics aside" and simply express solidarity with Russian athletes.

"There is no doubt that they are clean [because they're allowed to attend], but they are punished for possible misdemeanors of other people, I am against collective responsibility. Given these Olympians are clean, they should have the opportunity to represent their country, " he said.

The opening ceremony of the Games-2018 was held on Friday 9th February. The decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) stated that Russian athletes who are clean must compete under a neutral flag. All Russian insignia and flags are not allowed on any of the premises.

In recent days, Russia has had much support from American citizens. Is corporate media losing their grip on its audience?
