AFRIN, Syria – Afrin hospital workers were overwhelmed with wounded patients from Turkish airstrikes on Wednesday.
This comes as Turkey continues its military operation against Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in Syria’s northern Afrin canton.
Turkey launched the “Olive Branch Operation” to remove all YPG elements from Afrin on January 20.
The YPG are the Syrian branch of the Turkey-based Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in which Ankara recognizes as a terrorist organization. Washington also recognizes the PKK as a terrorist organization but contradictory it supports the YPG in Syria.
