DAMASCUS, Syria – Syrians have gone out in numbers to commemorate the memory of Russian soldiers.
People in the march could be seen carrying photos of Russian soldiers have died defending Syria from jihadist aggression.
Syrian media posed the question of: “Have you ever seen citizens of Afghanistan or Iraq marching with photos of fallen US soldiers?”
Russia began its intervention in Syria in September 2015. Since then, jihadist forces, including ISIS, have not only been contained, but even rolled back as the Syrian government continues liberating territory from terrorist organizations.
This has come at the cost of 46 Russian soldiers who have died in Syria.
