The contract for the supply of 11 multi-purpose Su-35 fighter jets to Indonesia has been signed.
Viktor Kladov, the director for international cooperation of the state corporation Rostech, told journalists that the agreement involves counter trade. That is, Russia will buy national goods from the Republic. Indonesia mostly exports rubber and palm oil.
The Su-35 is equipped with one of the most modern radar control systems – Irbis. It can detect another aircraft or unmanned drones at a distance of up to 350 kilometers. It independently determines the aircraft type and degree of danger, and then asks the pilot which object to attack first. The radar unit can determine up to 30 targets at once, and is capable of directing weapons at 8 of them simultaneously.
To date, the Su-35 is supplied only to one other country – China.
