EAST GHOUTA, Syria – Terrorists have used mortar fire against Syrian Army forces near a humanitarian corridor in Muhayam-al-Wafedin settlement in Eastern Ghouta to prevent around 300 civilians leaving the besieged pocket, according to a Sputnik correspondent.
A statement by the Russian Reconciliation Center revealed that the 300 civilians were trapped because of the shelling.
Russian authorities revealed that despite the daily humanitarian truce that begins at 9:00 A.M. local time everyday and goes on for five hours, terrorist forces continue their attacks, completely rejecting the humanitarian truce.
Because a lull in the fighting is not provided, zero civilians have so far left the besieged East Ghouta pocket because of these attacks.
