Well that did not last long: Kurdish forces retake town from Turkish military and their proxies in northern Syria

January 22, 2018 - Fort Russ News - Paul Antonopoulos

AFRIN, Syria - The Turkish military and their Syrian proxies captured the town of Shinjel in the northwest of Afrin canton from Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) forces in a quick manner yesterday, as reported by FRN

However, last night the YPG launched a counterattack and recaptured Shinjel from their enemy.

It took several hours for the YPG to recapture the town.

Meanwhile, intense clashes are occurring between the YPG and Turkish-backed forces across all fronts in Afrin.

Although many predicted a complete rout of Kurdish forces, it demonstrates that by no means they will give up on Afrin so easily.
