The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrei Zayats, has placed Russia on par with Syria, Libya, Yemen and Somalia, in terms of security. He wrote about this on his Twitter account.
The diplomat urged Ukrainians not to go to dangerous countries, where the consuls are limited in capabilities, although they do everything they can to help their fellow citizens, as in the Libyan case.
A Ukrainian doctor was recently kidnapped in Libya, who was later released from captivity of an armed group. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has “repeatedly advised Ukrainians to assess risks when planning trips to Russia.”
