DEIR EZZOR, Syria – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) recaptured the entire western bank of the Euphrates river from ISIS on Wednesday.
The SAA has reasserted full control over Al-Sukkariyah, Siyal and Ghabrah linking those areas with the capital of the province, Deir Ezzor and with the border town of Albukamal.
This has meant that a new land route connecting Tehran to Baghdad to Damascus to Beirut has opened.
This will make it all the more easier for Iran to smuggle weapons to Hezbollah as it removes the flight option which is easier for Israeli intelligence to monitor.
