DEIR EZZOR, Syria – The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) has delivered vital aid to those in need in Syria’s eastern Deir Ezzor province.
A total of 26 trucks delivered food and medical assistance to families in the province.
The SARC revealed on Thursday that the convoy had 10,000 food parcels, 10,000 hygiene baskets and food cans provided by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The people of Deir Ezzor city were under an ISIS-imposed siege where it was impossible to receive aid via a land route, with everything having to be delivered through risky air drops and deliveries.
Since the siege was lifted in November, aid has been reaching Deir Ezzor much easier.
