MOSCOW, Russia – Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Sunday slammed France and reminded the country of their “successes” in Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan.
This came as French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drina’s claim that Russia has “arrogated” the defeat of ISIS.
“The Western partners have been saying in the recent days that it was not Russia but them, the coalition to defeat Islamic State [ISIS] in Syria. The last to say this was French Foreign Minister Mr. Le Drian,” she wrote on her Facebook account.
“Dear Sirs, stop it! Your successes are Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan. Come on, be proud of them,” she mockingly said.
As reported by FRN yesterday, The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the US-led coalition against ISIS in Syria only saw “success” when it destroyed Raqqa and bombed its civilians.
