NEW DELHI, India – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday after the 15th RIC (Russia, India and China) ministerial meeting held in the Indian capital of New Delhi, that the tension and hostilities on the Korean Peninsula can only be settled through diplomacy in accordance to the Russian-Chinese roadmap.
“We shared our opinions regarding the situation on the Korean Peninsula that remains extremely tense,” Lavrov noted.
“We pointed to the absence of an alternative to the solution of the specified problem solely by political and diplomatic means: in line with the Russian-Chinese roadmap,” he said.
Hostilities flared on the peninsula after the ascendancy of Donald Trump to the US presidency and his direct threats against North Korea for testing missiles.
