The lawyer of the former head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov, Jim Walden, said that Russia is seeking extradition of the main informant of WADA. In addition, he reproached the IOC leadership for not wanting to provide security to his client.

Walden said that he wanted to meet with officials of the International Olympic Committee to stop the persecution of Grigory. “They answered me point-blank – the IOC is not going to take any action against Russia in connection with its response against Rodchenkov.” I wonder why?”

Moreover, the lawyer is afraid for the life of his client if he is extradited to Russia. “If they succeed, Dr. Rodchenkov will be tortured and killed,” Walden said. “Unfortunately, the IOC, who so relied on Rodchenkov’s testimony in the doping case, refuses to move a finger to help him,” he added.

Rodchenov is a ‘whistle blower’ on Russia’s “state doping system” – whose mental health issues are widely questioned, criminal record well-publicised, as well as the presence of a financial motive behind the saga.
