MOSCOW, Russia – Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Syria Staffan de Mistura met in Moscow to discuss a settlement of the Syrian crisis on Friday.
During the meeting, Shoigu expressed his hope to “find additional steps and incentives to promote dialogue between the opposition and the Damascus authorities.”
The Russian minister added that “98 percent of Syria is liberated from terrorists.”
Mistura then went onto say that Russia prepared the “ground for a political process.”
