SANA’A, Yemen – International aid arrived on Saturday in the Yemeni capital ofSana’a after a three-week-long Saudi-led blockade cut off UN aid workers, UNICEF volunteers and the Red Cross from the crisis-hit country.
The blockade followed on from an intercepted missile attack on Riyadh which Yemen’s Houthi resistance movement claimed responsibility for.
Saudi Arabia has been devastating Yemen since it intervened in its civil war in March 2015.
Around 15,000 people have been killed, mostly from Saudi-led airstrikes against civilian positions including schools, hospitals, funeral processions and public infrastructure.
