Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that six bombers of the Russian Air Force targeted ISIS positions in Syria.
According to the Ministry, six Tupolev Tu 22M3 bombers took off from Russia and flew over Iran and Iraq to deliver strikes against ISIS positions in the area of Abu Kamal, formerly the last ISIS stronghold in Syria located at the Iraqi border.
The bombers were supported by the Sukhoi Su-30 SM aircraft that took off from the Russian base in Syria.
During the strikes, several ISIS sites, mechanisms, installations and armored vehicles were destroyed.
