Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday at the Russian Black Sea resort city of Sochi, the Kremlin press service said.

“There are plans to exchange views on regional and international issues, including on joint anti-terror fight and the situation in Syrian settlement,” the press service said in a statement.

It is also expected that enhancing trade and economic ties, and energy cooperation will also be discussed.

Despite hostile relations after Turkey downed a Russian jet in Syria in November 2015, bilateral relations have significantly improved with Ankara and Moscow being partners in trying to resolve the Syrian war.
