KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT – Kuwait has started evacuating its citizens from Lebanon after Saudi Arabia hints at starting a war with the Levantine country.
Kuwait is now sending planes with 330 passenger capacity rather than initial 130 seat planes due to great number of Kuwaiti citizens in Lebanon.
This comes as earlier on Thursday, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry called on its citizens to leave Lebanon immediately, as reported by FRN.
“In light of the situation in the brotherly Republic of Lebanon, and in anticipation of possible negative repercussions as regards the security and safety of its people, the State of Kuwait asks its citizens currently staying in Lebanon to leave immediately and not return under any circumstances”, the Ministry said in a statement.
Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have made similar calls for its citizens to immediately evacuate Lebanon.
