Russian airstrikes have killed at least 20 ISIS terrorists after raiding their positions on the western bank of the Euphrates River in the eastern Syrian province of Deir Ez Zour.
Among the killed terrorists is an ISIS field commander who was leading units of the terrorist outfit in the region.
The bulk of the Russian airstrikes has concentrated on the main road leading from Al Quriyyah to Abu Kamal, a major ISIS hub located on the Syria-Iraq border.
The predominantly Bedouine inhabited Deir Ez Zour countryside and the neighbouring Anbar province of Iraq are considered as the heartland of ISIS where the terrorist group enjoys the highest level of support among Syrians and Iraqis.
