The law on the reintegration of Donbass, introduced today in the Ukrainian parliament, contradicts the Minsk agreements and further alienates the people’s republics from Ukraine, Boris Gryzlov told journalists today. Gryzlov is the representative of the Russian Federation in the Minsk Contact Group for the settlement of the situation in Donbass.
“The bill on restoring sovereignty over the Donbass to the Verkhovna Rada completely contradicts the Minsk agreements, further separates the Donbass from Ukraine, and blocks the Minsk process,” Gryzlov said.
The representative of Russia noted that Kiev has never decided to grant a special status to the Donbass.
“The special status of the Donbass is an inalienable condition for a political settlement in Ukraine,” Gryzlov said.
Earlier, the representative of the Donetsk Peoples Republic in Minsk, Denis Pushilin, said that the bill on the reintegration of Donbass, introduced today in the Verkhovna Rada, completely contradicts the Minsk agreements.
Earlier it was reported that the President of Ukraine Poroshenko invited the Verkhovna Rada to recognize that the DPR and the LPR are occupied by Russia.
Today it became known that the Opposition block party will not support the bill on reintegration of Donbass: politicians believe that the document violates the Minsk agreements and divides the country.
The head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, said that the bill “on the reintegration of Donbass” does not apply to the DPR, any more than the other “fruits of the sick fantasy” of Ukrainian politicians. According to the founder of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the politician and statesman of Donbass, Andrei Purgin, this initiative of Ukraine is aimed at drawing Russia into the war, and avoiding responsibility for crimes committed since 2014.
