Syrian army units continue their military operations towards the city of Deir Ezzor from the southwestern and northwest axis, amid heavy fighting with the organization’s terrorists, Muraselon reported.
According to a military source, army units advanced east of Haribsha area for a distance of 7 km towards the town of Kakbab and took control of large areas along the road leading to the town.
The town of Kakbab separates from the city of Deir Ezzor, the Shula region only, where the Syrian army seeks to advance from other axes in order to disperse the defenses of the terrorist organization and progress to lift the siege of the city.
Meanwhile, the Russian air force are conducting intense air strikes on the Bishri mountains to open the path for Syrian forces to drive towards Deir Ezzor.
This latest push by the Syrian Army now puts it within 40km of the besieged city of Deir Ezzor.
