Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with his Turkish and Iranian counterparts the situation revolving around the unconstitutional indepedence referendum that was held yesterday in Iraqi Kurdistan.

“This issue was discussed during the telephone conversations,” Peskov confirmed in reply to a question, without elaborating further aboyut the conversation held between Putin, and Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Hassan Rouhani, the Turkish and Iranian presidents.

“In this case, Russia’s position has not changed, we still believe that maintaining territorial and political integrity of the state is extremely important for maintaining stability and security in the region, and for settling acute problems that are plentiful in the region,” he said.
