Armenia Delivers 40 Tons of Humanitarian Aid to Syria

Armenian Orthodox Diocese of Damascus confirmed receiving a new batch of food aid and other basic supplies from Armenia, on Friday.

Latest shipment includes 40 tons of various products, suitable for the most basic needs, provided by Armenian people and their government to the Syrian people.

The Armenian Ambassador in Damascus, Arshak Poladian, said the aid came under directive of the President of the Republic of Armenia and was presented by Armenian people in solidarity with the Syrian people, noting this is the third batch of aid in 2017.

He added the aid includes food and other basic supplies, stressing that each time at least 40 tons of aid is being sent to Syria and that over the past two days even more quantities of aid arrived, some of which has already been distributed to various Syrian provinces.

On Wednesday, Armenian Defense Ministry made an official statement that a cargo plane, belonging to the Russian Air Force, transported 18 tons of humanitarian aid to Syria, mainly consisting of food and other basic supplies.
