4 Islamic State terrorists planning attacks arrested in Moscow

Islamic State terrorists planning terrorist attacks on the Russian capital’s transport have been arrested in Moscow, the Federal Security Service’s Center for Public Relations has reported. The group of arrested suspects numbers four people, including Russian citizens and citizens of Central Asian countries.

During searches, security forces discovered a laboratory for the production of explosives. In addition, a homemade bomb, components for making explosive devices, firearms, ammunition, grenades, and literature and videos of an extremist and terrorist nature were uncovered. 

The FSB has stated that the terrorists’ operations were directed from the territory of Syria.

“The terrorists planned, after committing a terrorist, saboteur act, to flee to Syria to participate in combat operations as part of the international terrorist organization known as the Islamic State,” the Federal Security Services’ statement reads.
