Today, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin opened the first Moscow parade of city vehicles. This parade is taking place as part of the second day of festive events dedicated to the city’s founding anniversary.
“We are holding the first ever parade of Moscow city automobiles. The first to ride around in the Moscow parade are ambulances, road and municipal vehicles, police cars, and emergency response cars,” Sobyanin said.
662 cars are being shown in the parade, including buses, fire trucks, tractors, ambulances, patrol cars, and traffic police motorcycles along with other vehicles. Around 30 vintage antique cars are featured in the column.
The total length of the column takes up two kilometers….This Moscow parade of city vehicles including more than 600 cars is entering Russian and European record books.
“The parade’s official award ceremony will be held on September 11th, when the column of more than 650 cars will go along Sadovoe roundabout. The application for registration in the Guinness Book of World Records is now being considered.”
Following the conclusion of the parade, Moscow residents and the capital’s visitors will be able to visit an exhibition of 130 city service vehicles which will be held on Krasnaya Presnya street.
