Poverty in Ukraine is spreading like an epidemic – said the ex-President of Georgia, the Governor of Odessa region of Ukraine Mikhail Saakashvili.

Such recognition was made after visiting the village of Shabo in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, where a fire killed six children.

“I have a severe impression. Yes, there was an accident, but if this family had money for coal, then they are not heating the house with a primitive electric fire, if they had a real job, the head of the family would not have to spend the night in a small household in another place to feed their family, if the family had minimal funds, they would not need to live in a terrible hut, built from inflammable materials,” said Saakashvili.

“There are such families in Ukraine that are living in more poverty, and it is spreading like an epidemic”, — concluded the Governor of the Odessa region.
