During the work of the Contact Group of representatives of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, criticism was expressed towards recent statements by prominent Ukrainian politicians, reports the press-service of Denis Pushilin – the Plenipotentiary representative of the DPR on the negotiations.

According to him, the newly-made speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Andriy Parubiy, was criticised for his first press statement, which undermined even the vague hopes of advancement in the implementation of the political part of the peace agreements.

“Calls to sabotage the implementation of the Minsk agreements from the mouth of officials of such a high level is absolutely unacceptable,” said Pushilin.

Envoys were perplexed by the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Pavlo Klimkin, where he repeatedly made attempts to revise the decisions made and announced earlier, “whether they are points of the Minsk agreements or solutions by the “Normandy Four”.

“We, in turn, once again emphasize that we advocated and continue to advocate the full and mutual implementation of the Minsk agreements. Another option of a peaceful settlement of the conflict simply does not exist,” said the department.
