On 16th April, the international conference “Our Europe, a Europe of Nations” took place in Sinaia, Romania, which was visited by about 500 representatives of radical parties from across Europe to discuss the most acute current problems for the EU. After the conference, the leader of the French National Front party Marine Le Pen expressed her indignation at the European Union’s anti-Russian sanctions.
“Sanctions against Russia – this is absurd”, – the politician said in an interview with the Romanian newspaper “Adevarul”.
Marine Len Pen stressed that she favours a multipolar world in which each state is free to determine the nature of their relations with other countries. In her view, the EU’s submission to the United States for many years has led to a cold war with Russia, although it does not meet its geostrategic and economic interests.
“We have to appease relations with Russia. It is not about the relations of subordination to Russia, but on relations of equality and respect. In my opinion, Europe has an obvious interest in the resumption of economic relations with Russia,” said Marine Le Pen.
