    Russian Navy to Receive 42 New Ships in 2016

    The Navy of the Russian Federation in 2016 will be replenished with 42 ships and their respective components. This was stated by the head of Department of shipbuilding of the Russian Navy captain 1st rank Vladimir Trapeznikov, cites RIA Novosti.

    He also added that this year will see 15 new combat ships and support vessels.

    Earlier the Defense Ministry reported that due to the active reception on aircraft carriers of a new generation, Commanders of the Navy held a special training exercise.

    The chief of naval aviation of the Russian Navy, major General Igor Kozhin, said that the Navy has actively accepted the ships of the new generation. These are the newest frigates, corvettes and patrol ships. "Every commander should be professionally trained on all issues of air traffic management", – said Kozhin.
