WATCH as protesters violently clash with police in Argentina

December 10, 2017 - Fort Russ News - Paul Antonopoulos

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina - Protesters have clashed with police on Monday in the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires outside of Congress as lawmakers debated on a pension overhaul that led to union leaders waging a general strike.

Protesters used rocks, molotov cocktails and bottles to protest as police responded with high-pressured water hoses, tear gas and rubber bullets.

A total of 48 people were arrested with a further 140 injured.

"We have no one to defend us," said 70-year-old Cristina Sanmero, who found herself caught in the clashes. "At my age, I have to come here and defend my contributions of 30 years. We're governed by inept people who think that it's easier to take away from the old."
