Russia puts Erdogan back in his place after he ludicrously called Assad a terrorist

December 28, 2017 - Fort Russ News - Paul Antonopoulos

MOSCOW, Russia - Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday that there is no legal basis to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan comments that Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad is a terrorist.

"As for the fact that the Turkish president called Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad a terrorist, Syrian government representatives are at the UN and represent the Syrian government at the UN Security Council, so this [statement] has no legal basis whatsoever, even without additional assessments and arguments," Zakharova said.

"I will not talk about the moral aspect. From the legal point of view, such statements are unsubstantiated," the diplomat added.

Yesterday Erdogan made the ridiculous claim that Assad is a terrorist despite irrefutable evidence that Turkey and ISIS traded oil.

"I clearly want to say Assad is a terrorist who leads state terror. There is no peace in Syria now and won't be with Assad. Otherwise we would have an unfairness on the people who are killed. We can not recognise this situation as Turkey," Erodgan said as reported by FRN.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry also hit back at Erdogan, stating: "“Erdogan continues to mislead the public in a desperate attempt to absolve himself of crimes he committed against the people of the Syrian Arab Republic."
