Former enemies in Yemen, now friends? Saleh's betrayal against Yemeni resistance continues

December 4, 2017 - Fort Russ News - Paul Antonopoulos

SANA'A, Yemen - The betrayal by Ali Abdullah Saleh continues as he has reportedly called to unite his faction with presidential rival
Abdrabbuh Mansur  Hadi forces in Taiz province to fight the Houthis.

Both Saleh and Hadi claim to be the president of Yemen, with the Shi'ite Houthi militia becoming allies with Saleh's forces to fight against the Saudi-backed Hadi.

However, last week Saleh in a power grab, attempted to remove the Houthis from the Yemeni capital of Sana'a by force.

It is expected Hadi will announce a general amnesty for Houthi fighters in an attempt to weaken the group who resists Saudi aggression.

Saudi coalition airstrikes are already assisting Saleh's forces by striking Houthi positions and areas, demonstrating that Saleh who for a short period was anti-Saudi, has now made a rapprochement with the puritanical kingdom.

Houthis however have announced a large collapse in Saleh forces defences in their last strongholds with dozens surrendering themselves,

This comes as a video shows a Saudi airstrike that devastated the airport in Sana'a, as reported earlier by FRN.
