WATCH as Syrian pasta factory reaches full capacity for the first time since the war began

November 30, 2017 - Fort Russ News - Paul Antonopoulos

DAMASCUS, Syria - A pasta and noodle factory in Ghouta has reportedly reached its full production capacity for the first time since the onset of the Syrian conflict, as shown in footage released on Wednesday.

The factory reportedly produces some 200,000 packs of dried pasta per day, half of which are distributed among the towns and villages recently liberated from ISIS.

Each pack costs around 100 Syrian pounds ($0.17/€0.14).

A Syrian government program is said to compensate any losses incurred by the facility.

The factory currently employs about 100 people; however, the number is expected to rise to 400 by the end of the year, given the demand for food.
