Serbian President Alexander Vučić said that the country needs to maintain good relations with NATO, which benefit Belgrade.

"We need to cooperatr with NATO," he said after a meeting with the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg.

According to the head of Serbia, a positive relationship with the military association will lead to the fact that the Serbian army will be better trained and equipped. In addition, according to Vučić, NATO contributes to the security of the Serbs in the unrecognized state of Kosovo.

"The presence of NATO in Kosovo contributed to the fact that over the past 4.5 years there were no Serbs or Albanians killed in ethnic conflicts there," he said.

At the same time, Vučić said he did not forget the events of 1999, when the alliance forces were bombing in Yugoslavia, but added that "we must look to the future."

Also, the president confirmed that Serbia intends to maintain military neutrality. In general, Vučić also speaks highly of the country's relationship with Russia.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic stated that Belgrade is not interested in joining NATO.
