Lugansk. Igor Kornet, head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Lugansk People's Republic -- whose dismissal was previously reported -- told a press conference in the capital of the LPR about the situation in Lugansk.

According to him, in the capital of the Republic "at the present moment there is an event to eliminate the remains of a large sabotage and reconnaissance group, which came to our territory. Unfortunately, it did not work out with one blow. The search for liquidation of the remnants of this group is taking place, and the time has come for the completion of the operational development that has been in progress for a long time, together with the Ministry of State Security of the Lugansk People's Republic, and during this long development numerous agents of influence of the Ukrainian special services have been identified.

"They have penetrated deeply into the authorities of our republic. Right now, our friendly people and friendly law enforcement authorities of the Donetsk People's Republic are assisting," he said.

A journalist noted that "from the side of the head of the republic or from someone who claims to be, incomprehensible information is coming out" and asked for clarity.

"I have previously indicated that the agents of influence have penetrated deeply into the authorities of the Lugansk People's Republic, and for a long time were feeding the head of the LPR distorted information about what was happening, which was precisely the result of these actions," Cornet said.

"I will not spell out the names of the detainees yet, because the events are still going on, and for the successful conduct of these events, I will keep it secret for the time being," he said, responding to a question about whether the director of the GTRK was detained.

Cornet added that most likely the special operation will be completed before the end of the week."But I want to point out specifically that the rule of law in the Lugansk People's Republic has not been violated, all bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are working in the regular mode. I do not see any outbursts of crime, even though  in connection with such a major operation there is somewhere a failure in crime. This is reflected in the fear of criminals in the commission of their crimes at the moment," he said.

Cornet also said that the statement of the head of the LNR, Igor Plotnitsky, that a coup attempt is being made on the republic is most likely a fake."I'm sure it was a note that was tossed around again by some people," he said.

Cornet added that the LPR Ministry of Internal Affairs remains under his leadership."Almost one hundred percent were, are, and will remain, under control. Unfortunately, some individuals appeared who showed cowardice and did not understand the situation, and somewhere fell under the influence of the Ukrainian special services," he said.

"There is a single fist in the law enforcement system of the Lugansk Republic, which operates according to the established plan.Yes, and about the building of the Prosecutor General's Office: There was no storming. The detainees of the falsification of the pseudo-coup of 2016* have been led away. These people are detained, and they are giving evidence," he summed up.

We recall today the head of the Lugansk People's Republic Igor Plotnitsky held a press conference, during which representatives of foreign media could ask questions about the situation in Lugansk. During the conversation with journalists, Plotnitsky called the situation in LPR an attempt at a coup d'état.

Earlier, the head of the LPR instructed the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Prosecutor's Office to restore order in the Republic.

Today the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on the unrest in Lugansk.

We recall that yesterday people wearing balaclavas and armed with automatic weapons appeared iin the main streets of Lugansk.

Later, the head of the Lugansk People's Republic, Igor Plotnitsky, made an official statement about the situation in the capital of the LPR. According to him, the arrival of armed people in the city center was connected with the dismissal of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Cornet.

On November 20, Plotnitsky signed a decree to remove Cornet from his post as Interior Minister of the Lugansk People's Republic.

Today, the head of the Department of the Presidential Administration for Social and Economic Cooperation with the State members of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of South Ossetia, Mikhail Arutyunov, said that the message on the website of TV RBC allegedly received from the circle of presidential aide Vladislav Surkov "on the support of certain political forces" in the Lugansk People's Republic (ЛНР), does not correspond to reality.
