In Kiev, a draft law "On Forgiveness" is being prepared for residents of Donbass, who protested against Ukraine during the events of 2014. This was stated by the ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the "Fatherland" party, Andrei Senchenko.

The Kiev authorities will offer the people of Donbass the chance to repent for their anti-Ukrainian stance, after which the citizens of Donetsk will be struck in civil rights.

"We are now preparing a draft law on forgiveness. This is not the same as an amnesty - we use the Croatian experience to some extent, there was a procedure of forgiveness after the Balkan war.

The idea of forgiveness is that a citizen comes to the Ukrainian court and writes a statement about committing the crime. At the same time, he fills in a form for forgiveness to the Ukrainian state.

The court, on the basis of clearly defined criteria in the law, considers these documents and issues a decision on forgiveness on behalf of the state of Ukraine.

For 10 years, these people will be deprived of the right to civil service, military service, to work in law enforcement agencies, to work in the judicial system and in local government. These people for the same period will also be deprived of the right to teach. And the impossibility of participating in elections in any form - to elect, be elected." - Senchenko said.
