Former Russian minister regrets Putin's new law against foreign agents

November 26, 2017 - Fort Russ News - Paul Antonopoulos

MOSCOW, Russia - Russia’s former Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, a former Finance Minister for Russia and heads the Center for Strategic Research, says he regrets that a law on the media outlets designated as foreign agents has come into force in Russia, he told reporters on Saturday .

"I believe … the law on NGOs is very tough and I believe that lots of NGOs are improperly defined as foreign agents. I also regret the media are included in this [group]," he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law the bill on the mass media outlets designated as foreign agents on Saturday.

This comes in response to the US Department of Justice demanding RT America to register as a foreign agent.
