Communist Leader "ashamed" of Russia, because of Sobchak's candidacy

Communist Party leader, Gennady Zyuganov, said that he was ashamed of the country, after the statements of one of the candidates for the presidency of Russia.

"One madam from "Dom-2", in her position as a candidate, is talking all kinds of nonsense and I feel ashamed for the country," Zyuganov said at a news conference.

Ksenia Sobchak, the former presenter of the TV project "Dom-2", has in October announced her plans to participate in the election, stating that Crimea is Ukrainian, and that she supports sanctions against Russia.

"Dom -2" is a reality TV programme, where contestants build a house and try to find a partner at the same time. They then compete for the house.

While "democracy" provides for equal opportunity of all to run for the country's presidency - Sobchak is not legally old enough to do so. It is most likely a PR campaign for herself, and opportunities to appear on the likes of CNN to discredit the Russian government.
