Tribal fighters in Syria's east begins recruitment to continue fight against ISIS

October 15, 2017 - Fort Russ News - Paul Antonopoulos

Syrian tribes in Syria's east allied to the government have begun a recruitment drive to continue the fight against ISIS.

The main line of operation will be in the eastern region of Deir Ezzor where ISIS are on a rapid decline fighting not only against pro-government forces, but also by US-backed and Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Storming troops will receive a 100,000 Syrian pound ($200USD) monthly salary, with fortifying troops receiving 70,000 Syrian pounds ($145USD).

Included in the wages will be uniforms, ammunition, food and weapons.

Recruited fighters will work three weeks and have one week off.

The main tribe in this region of Syria that is pro-government is the al-Shaitat tribe that has had many of its members brutally executed by ISIS as they assisted in the resistance and defense of Deir Ezzor city.
