Putin must step up the liquidation of the neo-kulak 'Oligarchs'

    October 30th, 2017 - Fort Russ News -
    - Op-ed by Denis Churilov -

There is a huge segment in the Russian ruling elite that is oriented towards the Trans-Atlantic corporations and financial institutions, the segment that was formed in the early 1990s (de facto, it started to form during the last years of the Soviet Union). They call themselves “liberals”.

Those are the people from the same establishment that sunk Russia into economic and demographic mess of the Yeltsin years and who are now in charge of the economy sector in Russia.

Strategically, they are not interested In Russia as a sovereign state that has (and is able to assert) its own interests. They act within the paradigms instilled by their masters from the IMF and various pro-globalization banksters (the 1990s Russia and the modern day Ukraine serve as a historical illustration of what happens when these people are fully in charge of the government).

Putin is often criticized by his supporters for not being tougher on them.

Well, if Putin is to deal with the “liberal” elites seriously, Russia could see the same stuff that was happening in the Soviet Union during the 1920s and 1930s, when the country was going through a “Cold Civil War” between Stalinists and Trotskyists, simplistically speaking (those processes were later branded as “Stalin repressions”).

If Putin doesn’t want oligarchs and the Trans-Atlantic proxies like Chubais to reign the 1990s style chaos upon Russia once again (that could as well be the end of Russia as we know it, as it nearly fell apart in the late 1990s and the early 2000s), he should probably step up his game and restrict the “liberal” establishment in the Kremlin (there are many external geopolitical factors that need to be dealt with, after all).

Would be difficult, given the 25+ years old power configuration in Russia. Lots of support will be needed to take such legal actions, both from the elites and common people.

On the side note, surveys show that Russian people appear to like the image of Stalin *wink-wink*
