Venezuela denounces Trump's plan to host a dinner for anti-Venezuelan states

September 16, 2017 - Fort Russ News - Paul Antonopoulos

Venezuela has denounced the “rival dialog” that the US President Donald Trump’s plans to conduct with Latin American leaders on the political crisis in the country.

This comes only days after the government and opposition resumed reconciliation negotiations.

“You have nothing to evaluate President Trump ... evaluate your internal problems,” Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza stressed on Friday. The comment was made after Washington revealed that a “working dinner” on September 18 will be hosted to convene several Latin American leaders in New York to discuss the political and economic crisis in Venezuela.

“Anyone who dares to attack Venezuela will suffer the consequences,” he continued to say in regards to Trump's threat to use military force against the South American state.

During the meeting scheduled for Monday, Trump is expected to “discuss the crisis in Venezuela, as well as the strong economic ties and extraordinary success of like-minded Latin American nations in recent decades,” US National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster told journalists.
