Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said in an interview with CBC that he has asked the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, to transfer satellite images of the Russian-Ukrainian border to the country's armed forces.

It is noted that earlier Ukraine already made such a request to the former Canadian government, when Poroshenko persuaded former Prime Minister Stephen Harper to transmit images from the Radarsat-2 satellite in 2015. The program of assistance ended in the spring of 2016. At that time, only images of "internationally recognized territory" were available to Ukraine.

According to the channel, "Poroshenko said he urged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to provide his country with high-tech images of the Ukrainian-Russian border from the Canadian satellite."

"Since this can provide us with effective assistance in the implementation of the Minsk agreements, in obtaining evidence that Russia moved its tanks, artillery systems, launch systems for several missiles" - the television channel quotes the Ukrainian president.
