The head of Crimea, Sergey Aksenov, approved a bill that exempts the residents of the republic of Crimea from payments on loans taken from Ukrainian banks. Amendments to the legislation give the Crimean parliament the right to write off the debts of citizens.

The law will cancel in full the amount of debts up to 5 million rubles. The initiative was developed with the participation of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic and the main state legal department of the presidential administration.

As for the debts of more than 5 million rubles - everytime a repayment of 5% is made, 20% will be annulled from the total amount.

The law  particularly seeks to look after the interests of unprotected categories of the population, including disabled people and their dependents.
