Later, Syrian Air Force carried out strikes in a response to the shelling of the Syrian Army positions by the terrorist groups known as the "Lions of the East Army" and “Martyrs of Qaryatayn Brigade” at Jordanian border.

According to the field reports, clashes between the units of the Syrian Army and the two aforementioned terrorist groups also broke out not long after Syrian forces took control of the area of Sabaa Biar and a number of surrounding hills, located east of Damascus and in the south-western countryside of Homs province towards the direction of Iraqi border after terrorists allegedly tried to halt the advancements, made by the Syrian Army.
