Following yesterday’s annihilation of at least 75 Al Nusra Front terrorists in Daraa, units of the Syrian Army carried out even more strikes against the terrorists in that embattled province of Syria’s south.
Heavy losses were inflicted when army units bombarded Al Nusra Front positions in the neighbourhoods of Al Manshiyeh and Karak, located in Daraa Al Balad area. Scores of terrorists were killed, in addition to destruction of machine-gun barricades and a mortar launcher. The army also managed to foil an assault by terrorists.
More achievements were also made in the province of Hama. After yesterday approaching the strategic village of Maardis, located north to the city of Hama, the army finally took control of it, following intense clashes with Al Nusra Front terrorists, earlier on Monday. Controlling Maardis is of great strategic impotance as it will further allow the army to make expansions towards other relevant strategic points, namely Souran, Halfaya and Lataminah, that would eventually allow the army to enter Idleb province.
New advancements were made in the province of Deir Ez Zour.
At least 14 ISIS terrorists were killed and many more were left wounded in intense operations, carried out against terrorist positions in the outskirts of Deir Ez Zour city, namely the areas around the Regiment 137, the airport and in the neighborhoods of Al Hwaiqa and Al Sinaa. Several vehicles, mortar launchers and machine-guns, belonging to the terrorists, were destroyed during Syrian Army operations in the cemeteries area. All ISIS terrorists were also said to be killed during the army raids on the northern outskirts of Deir Ez Zour.
Despite the Friday's US missile strike on the Syrian Sharyat airbase in Homs province, the Syrian army fight against terrorist groups did not witness any noticeable decline, with plenty of terrorists being killed throughout the country over weekend. The bombed Sharyat airbase has also resumed operations.
